Looking for a Lomo Anamorphic lens rental in order to capture all of the wonderful characteristics you’ve come to expect for your next project?
The Lomo Anamorphic Square Fronts lend a mysterious character and cinematic feel to a scene that cannot be replicated with post-production processing, so although more complex and expensive, our anamorphic lens set is worth it.
Anamorphic lenses date back to World War II but they weren’t really used in cinema until the 1950’s when filmmakers were looking to offer widescreen, epic-looking films.
An anamorphic lens captures a wider aspect ratio by squeezing the horizontal field of view, achieving a really interesting look that you couldn’t get with normal spherical lenses. The most common characteristics of these lenses’ look are the horizontal lens flares and the vertically stretched, oval shaped bokeh.
Some modern day films shot with anamorphic lenses include Blade Runner, La La Land and JJ Abrams’ Super 8, who happens to be widely known for shooting with anamorphic lenses.
